Today's Silly story-" Waiter can I have an extra Plate, please?"

This is a real life incident.

I had gone with a then friend to this restaurant one afternoon--not the cafe at the Taj or anything, but not one of those road side eateries either..There were tables, there was an AC running too.

We ordered a large plate of noodles and then also two glasses of fruit juice.The fruit juice arrives .You know, those tall glasses filled up with sugary fruit juice and large straw and a white plate below that glass tumbler serving as a coster of sorts.

I start slowly sipping the juice with the straw. The large plate of noodles arrived and it was overfilled to the brim with noodles .There was no room on that plate for me to conveniently use a fork and not spill the noodles onto the table.So, i figured, why not ask for an extra plate and serve myself little servings from that other plate ..

I ask the waiter, "Waiter, can i have an extra plate?"

Suddenly, he seems very outraged and yet is silent almost as if he is using all his energies and controlling his urge to yell at me for asking me for gold and silver or his testicles ...

Then as a very tarty retort, he suddenly saying, "Oh , you want an extra plate?", and then quicly grabs the plate that was used to serve my juice glass on, and then says, " Here you go , you have an extra plate , now" and then he had this smirk on his face that i so wanted to wipe off of his face.

This behaviour is truly reflective of the average Indian..Pettiness where pettiness is not required , where nothing really comes out of that pettiness.
