'Slumdog Millionaire' is a british Director's movie but Everyone wants a piece of the fame cake

First off, 'Slumdog Millionaire' is a well made movie(apparently) judging from all the awards and reviews...BUT, IT IS NOT A BOMBAY FILMINDUSTRY MOVIE(I try not using the word Bollywood)..This is a british movie. This movie was directed by a British Director.Sure there were Indian assistant director/s and an indian/kenyanbritishindian cast(hey, the story is of indian people, do you want caucasians playing mumbaikars, they had to hire an indian cast) and An India born Music director(Rehman btw mostly lives in London these days, it appears)..anyways....yeah btw, some idiot went ahead and started a campaign wanting to get the indian subdirector the title of codirector till ofcourse the lady had to intervene and make him stop.. hmmm....Seriously..Please do ask permission before starting campaigns esp. if it involves another person .I digress to the point of glory..let me get back to the topic on hand.

The problem with Indians is that they will never ever ever ever encourage originality or something that they are not already used to .If slumdog millionaire would have depended on India to get produced, it would never have seen the light of day, nor would it have been made tastefully that way it turned out eventually. Here again , I am not here to discredit authentic Indian film makers(read:non commercial pune film institute movies, read old bengali movies, read local filmmakers that make great movies which never see anything other than a filmfestival screening), but most commercial indian movies lack depth and are perverse and depraved on many many levels with depraved views on the concept of love and sexuality and women and family and everything else.

So yeah, coming back to everyone in india constantly taking credit for this movie, It irks me very much that indians come running to associate themselves with anything that becomes a success that is remotely connected to india in some way. They start hallucinating that the success happenned because of something all the indians combinedly put a ton of hardwork in producing.

Indians never would encourage their women to do anything other than something that is immediately beneficial to the male members of the family(Now again, not all of them but the general trend is of selfish pettiness amongst the male population) and yet when kalpana chawla goes to space, everyone wants a piece of the fame cake. The male to female ratio is so atrocious in punjab, makes me want to puke at the petty small thinking of those families there. But that is a blog for another day.

Seriously, get over it. It is a well made movie, A british director made it..yes Rehman's music is great, but well, even if Rehman had been British , it would have been just as great.NM...So stop wanting a piece of the fame cake..just appreciate a good movie and chill, will ya?
