Rail Budget 2009 and a whopping turnover

Lalu prasad Yadav, the Rail minister, presented the Rail Budget for this year .He single handedly turned the Railways around (This the same man from Bihar-former Bihar CM who got stuck in so many corruption filled scams aka the fodder scam and the works).Says a lot as to how much people can accomplish if they let go off the corruption and do something altruistic.Bihar is one of the poorest states in India(for the information of all Non Indian readers).

Now, now,The Railway dept. seems to have made a whopping profit of 90,000 crores ? Am I hearing it right? Is the figure right? whao.If the railways has that kind of money, then there is no excuse for urine stinking rail tracks and dirty platforms anymore.

We need better and clean railway platforms.

We need more frequency of trains.

We need cheaper tickets for students and frequent travellers.

We need better pay for railway employees.

We need hi tech equipment in train bogies.

We need cleaner bathrooms in the trains.

The bathrooms in Indian railways are deplorable .Please do something about this !

Speaking of which, there was this one incident in one of these snack dispensing fast trains where one of the railway employees was using the bathroom of all places to store the snacks till the time that they can be brought out and sold to the travellers.

Gosh. We definitely need more training of railway employees about hygeine and what is acceptable and what is not.

I would also suggest that we have more eateries on each train, a dining place of sorts where travellers can go and have a snack on long distance trains.We also need drinking water facilities on long distance trains.
