IPL -Money,Economics,Auctions,Foolish cricket fans,Advertising

The header might very well look like a mismatched hodge podge to the undiscerning eye.Yes! But no! It is no Hodge-Podge,Most of these topics are interconnected.
IPL, stands for Indian Premiere league?(I am questioning because i don't really follow cricket anymore.I used once upon a time , till finally all the MATCH FIXING Ghotala came out. After that I forever lost trust in games and everything associated with it .The fools at the end of the day are the foolish cricket fans who sit there and waste days and nights just watching cricket, in the process catering to the advertisers that pay IPL tons of money for the telecast .These cricket fans also spend a lot of time just watching cricket, becoming a couch potato just staring at tv screen, munching on all and sundry snacks with no form of exercise other than the occasional jumping up and down in stress at a possible catch or a four or a six. These cricket fans are mostly men and sometimes women too, who could benefit from actually playing cricket themselves rather than sitting there and just watching it.

I have always pitied these beer bellied sports fans , who clearly don't go out there and play the game themselves , are morbidly obese and have a couch potato life. They just want to live vicariously through a bunch of men playing on a ground, while they themselves will just sit there and watch.I say, If you really love a game, the true hallmark of that love is represented in you playing it..Go out there and play, will ya?
Anyways, The IPL auctions got a lot of media coverage, A lot of entertainment industry people seems to be investing money in IPL teams and that says a lot doesn't it? The players are getting auctioned off for whopping amounts of crores and crores. That says a lot too doesn't it? That kind fo money tells us as to how much IPL and the investors are able to make beyond and above the amount that they invest. So, yes, yes,, a Lot of money right there.

How do they get this money back ?By selling telecast rights to channels and such.

How do the TV channels get back the money they spend on telecast purchase amounts? By a lot of advertisements from companies that pay for the advertisements.

Why do advertisers spend so much?Because by advertising their product to a whole bunch of foolish cricket fans, they sure are confident that they will make enough revenue by selling their products that they advertise on tv.

Who buys these products? You,You the cricket fan, that spends hours in front of the tv just watching the match and never really playing it, betting on matches and getting stressed over it, spending hours in front of the tv which interferes with spending quality family time interacting with your other family members.I am not saying not to ever Watch IPL, I am just explaining the concept of how everything works.I would rather that people go out there and play rather than just watch it day and night.Watch it once a week, not the whole week!
Anwyays ! This the economics of it all.Not Just IPL but any cricket match including the ones that were/are telecast by the ICC or espn or any other channel , all run on the principle of eventually making the public pay for it directly or indirectly.
Anyways, End of economics rant.
